COMP All-Day Seminars

The Academy of Finland's Center of Excellence programme has been a long-term financial supporter of COMP's research and educational activities. 2017 marks the end of this formal collaboration. To celebrate our successes and look to the future, we will host a Final Seminar on 13 October 2017.

In both 2015 and 2016, COMP hosted an All-Day Seminar for all CoE members to come together and exchange ideas along common themes. For details of previous events, please follow the Archive link on the left.

COMP's Final All-Day Seminar will take place 13 October 2017 at Hanaholmen, Hanasaari, Helsinki.

The Final Seminar will highlight our current research results and summarize our major accomplishments. Therefore, we are pleased to host our distinguished Scientific Advisory Board members, Erio Tosatti from the International School for Advanced Studies in Italy, and Stephan Roche from the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology in Spain, as well as COMP's founding Director, Academician Risto Nieminen.

The invited speakers include outstanding academics: Silke Biermann from Ecole Polytechnique in France, Aki Vehtari of Aalto University and Technical University of Denmark (DTU), and Javier Garcia de Abajo from the Institute of Photonic Sciences in Spain (left to right in the photos below).

As evidenced by our speaker list, COMP's strong collaborations will continue to inspire the researchers in COMP's eleven research groups into the future.
